SynaptiQ Building ( is 3E’s software-based service delivering better comfort in combination with energy & operational cost savings. Our solution uses Artificial Intelligence to automatically steer the energy systems in buildings, applying self-learning algorithms to the collected data (monitoring data, user feedback, weather forecast data, energy market data). SynaptiQ Building works as an intelligence layer on top of the existing BMS, overwriting dedicated control parameters.

3E’s SynaptiQ Building team is looking for a (BMS) Controls Engineer. Key aspects of your role will be:

  • To work in collaboration with our clients’ technical teams and BMS engineers to successfully deploy SynaptiQ Building in new buildings.
  • To act as the client’s technical account manager.
  • To use your technical knowledge, experience, and sensitivity to the client’s priorities to contribute to the further development of the product


  • Proven BMS experience (Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Priva, Schneider, Trend, …)
  • Protocol knowledge / experience (BACnet, OPC, Modbus, M-bus, LonWorks, …)
  • A good understanding of HVAC systems (fault detection & diagnostics)
  • Knowledge of general IT infrastructure (network configuration, i-net security, …)
  • You are willing to dig into unknown BMS/protocols
  • Experience in or willingness to run Python diagnostic scripts, programming language basics
  • Basic programming skills, knowledge of Python is a plus

  • A flexible mind-set and start-up mentality
  • A hands-on, customer-oriented approach
  • Fluent in English, Dutch and/or French is a plus
